Auteur Jean Thomassen, een kunstenaar uit onze tijd, neemt u mee terug in de geschiedenis van de schilderkunst, te beginnen bij de oude Grieken om via de Renaissance en de Gouden Eeuw te eindigen in onze tijd. Olivier Strebelle (Brussel, 1927) is een boegbeeld van de Belgische moderne en hedendaagse kunst. Zijn momumentale werken zijn niet alleen Belgische emblemen geworden (b.v. de Flight in Mind op de luchthaven van Zaventem of de Confluences in het Europees Parlement), maar prijken ook op beroemde plaatsen in het buitenland.

De Athlete’s Alley is 105m lang en 20 meter hoog en bestaat uit vijf modules, gevormd met gebogen stalen buizen, in perspectief. Ze tekenen in de ruimte een organisch en gratievol geheel. Eén frontaal focuspunt ontknoopt de figuur: vijf gedaanten die elk een Olympische ring dragen.
